Hunting Western Oregon's Black-Tailed Bucks

Last Saturday morning the weather was just beautiful in Western Oregon, which generally means no deer. That proved to be true for me. I didn't see hide nor hair of my elusive quarry.

The only thing I saw was some mountains, some mushrooms, and a couple if slugs. I took a couple if pictures of the slugs and the mountains, and left the mushrooms alone.

I still haven't found any golden chanterelles this year, but I still have time. I found and ate my first of these fungi last year. Please read about it here.

Despite the lack of deer, I really enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was such a pleasure to be out in the woods.

I still hope I get a buck this year, but that is not all that matters to me anymore.... but it sure would be nice!

Happy Hunting!
